By the Brae B&B is at the bottom of Viewmount Brae which is off the B9006 Highland Tourist Route between Inverness and Culloden Battlefield.

From Culloden Battlefield drive two miles towards Inverness on the B9006 Culloden Road. Our street, Viewmount Brae, is on the right hand side opposite some farm buildings, immediately after the 40mph speed limit sign. If you start to go downhill towards the city centre you have gone too far!

From Inverness Airport drive in towards Inverness on the A96. At around 6 miles from the airport you will come to a roundabout. Take the first exit signposted to Balloch, Culloden and Smithton. Drive about a mile until you come to a junction controlled by traffic lights next to Culloden Car Sales and a small row of shops. Turn right at this junction (signposted to Culloden Moor and Croy) on to Tower Road. Drive right to the end of Tower Road to the T junction and turn left on to the B9006 Culloden Road, towards Culloden Moor and Croy. Drive about 1/2 a mile up the hill, passing a sign for Nairnside on your right (don’t turn here, stay on the B9006). Viewmount Brae is the second left after the turnoff to Nairnside, opposite some farm buildings. If you see the national speed limit sign (the white circle with a black diagonal line), you’ve just gone past our street.

From the A9 driving south and from the Longman Roundabout (south of the Kessock Bridge), ignore the first exit (for the A96 to the airport and Aberdeen) and then pass under two bridges over the dual carriageway. Immediately before the second bridge you will see a sign for Culloden Battlefield and Cawdor Castle and the B9006 Culloden Road. Take this exit, move towards the right hand lane, and at the traffic lights turn right onto the B9006. Drive for about 2 miles up the hill, passing a sign for Nairnside on your right (don’t turn here, stay on the B9006). Viewmount Brae is the second left after the turnoff to Nairnside, opposite some farm buildings. If you see the national speed limit sign (the white circle with a black diagonal line), you’ve just gone past our street.

From the A9 driving north as you approach Inverness pass by the old (disused) tourist information office on the left and then exit onto the B9177 signposted to Milton of Leys and Culloden. At the roundabout take the second exit passing under the A9. At the next roundabout take the first exit following signs for the B9006 and Culloden Battlefield. Drive down the hill past the Drumossie Hotel and down to the T juction with the B9006. Turn right and continue for about 1 1/2 miles up the hill, passing a sign for Nairnside on your right (don’t turn here, stay on the B9006). Viewmount Brae is the second left after the turnoff to Nairnside, opposite some farm buildings. If you see the national speed limit sign (the white circle with a black diagonal line), you’ve just gone past our street.

From Loch Ness and the A82 as you approach Inverness you will cross over the Caledonian canal just after Torvean golf course. At the roundabout turn right following signs for Culduthel, Dores and the H for Raigmore hospital. This road is new and may not appear on your GPS. When you reach the roundabout by the Tesco supermarket and petrol station, go straight across to join the B8082 following signs for the hospital and Perth. Then follow the directions below from Loch Ness south.

From Loch Ness south as you approach Inverness from Dores on the B862, take the third exit by the Tesco supermarket to join the B8082 signposted to Perth and Raigmore Hospital. Drive for 3 1/2 miles going straight ahead at all roundabouts until you reach a large roundabout next to the Police Headquarters building (on your left) and the retail park on your right look for the Matalan sign on the back of one of the buildings. At this roundabout take the third exit to the B9006 towards Culloden Battlefield and Croy. Drive for just over 2 miles towards Culloden Battlefield and Croy, passing a sign for Nairnside on your right (don’t turn here, stay on the B9006). Viewmount Brae is the second left after the turnoff to Nairnside, opposite some farm buildings. If you see the national speed limit sign (the white circle with a black diagonal line), you’ve just gone past our street.

When you reach our street, Viewmount Brae, drive to the bottom and straight ahead you’ll see a long driveway and our sign next to the gate. GPS USERS: please make sure you use our street name as well as our postcode, or your device may take you past our street to Blackpark Farm!
